Friday Movie - Ultra Relax

Boris is sitting on the couch next to me .... and Joe is in his computer room doing something , but soon we will be watching a movie.
I haven't done much writing here lately ... and when I have it hasn't been as frivolous as I would like. I hate it when I get all wrapped up and "deep" it feel so ...tired to me... I am always whining about something ......... and wallowing in sadness whenever I get a chance to sit down and be alone.
I will be stressed out about something I am going through... but when I write it is from my past... because the current issues have the potential to hurt others.

.... I become even more tense because I am not purging or working through situations ... and I get all worked up and fucky about stuff from the past...

Joe is here now , we are going to watch a movie.

uh-oh...... it is only a few minutes in .....hmmmmmmmmm
I better go.... this isn't looking too good.

....the movie is over ... there were some nice bits but ... there were also a lot of things lacking.... I never seem to like it when Japanese subject matter is remade (even by people who truly seem to love it) in America. There is a mix of sensibilities that I find somewhat obnoxious. I am only slightly familiar with Astro Boy.... but from what I have seen ... they missed out on a lot of the cute and pulpy stuff and added; average slapstick visual jokes, Post 911 political commentary and a funky young girl with an attiude.

There is a lot of cool but stupid stuff in anime.... I love that it is stupid.... but when it is remade they either try to rationalize or hang a lantern on those elements.

I think they will be making a CG Gatchamon . I hope they don't try to explain Princesse's yo yo.

....on a similar note I also have my reservations about the new Clash of the Titans coming out inext week ....
....and Paul W.S. Anderson is directing a remake of Buck Rogers ....Mother Fucker....
